SLUTS ANTHOLOGY

PUBLICATION DESIGN
2026

Sluts Anthology is a collection of memoirs edited together by Michelle Tea. It compiles real stories from real people centered around the word “Slut”. Mainly highlighting the LGBTQ+ community and women, this book explores what it means to push the lines of sexuality in modern society and give back power to promiscuity.

In my publication class, we were assigned to design the layout and composition of a preexisting book - preferably nonfiction. I chose this anthology not only because I think its overall message is important, especially as a young woman, but also because I wanted to challenge myself as a designer. How can I represent sexuality without portraying women as sexual objects? How can I explore these vulgar themes while respecting the original authors? The finished product was a book and cover entirely designed by me; all imagery is mine, and I hand-bound and printed it.
