WORD ON THE STREET ZINE

PUBLICATION DESIGN
2025

Created for my Typography course, this project expanded my knowledge and experience in publication design. I chose to explore the political street art that lines Haight Street — graffiti, murals, stickers, and the many forms of activism written on the city’s walls. Alongside documenting these visuals, I researched their history, delving into Haight’s identity as a political community and its roots in the Hippie Movement of the 1960s. This magazine highlights how that legacy continues today, as contemporary artists use public space to respond to modern issues and keep the neighborhood’s spirit of resistance alive.
